Obituary of Michael J. Perloff

Michael James Perloff, passed away on August 15, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 30, 1947. He was the son of the late Rita and Leon Perloff. He was the loving and beloved husband of Pamela, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Morrissey (nee Hope), his ex-wife, Irene, sons, Mark (Erica), Joseph, Michael (deceased), his stepsons, Bryan Morrissey (Krystin) and Sean Morrissey, his brother James (Lori), Steven (deceased), 9 grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews and other extended family. Mike dedicated his life to the service of his country and its citizens. He had a very distinguished career as a member of the US Army and US Army Reserves achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Over his 27 years of service, he served in a wide variety of areas of expertise; from a Tank Commander on the Fulda Gap in the 1960s, during the height of the Cold War, to a new recruit Reception Station Command Sergeant Major. Mike was a proud member of the Lower Merion Police Department serving the citizens of Lower Merion Township and Pennsylvania for 25 years. His love of America, years of dedication to the service of his country and community is a great source of pride to his family. His son followed his tradition joining the PA Army National Guard and the Pennsylvania State Police. His grandson, Ronan, is also now a member of the PA Army National Guard and 4th generation of Perloffs to serve. He was an avid fisherman and always believed that a bad day of fishing was still a great day on the water. His sense of humor was unsurpassed and will be missed greatly. Michael's legacy lives on. There will be calling hours at Evoy Funeral Home on August 24, 2021 from 10 AM to Noon. Memorial Services will be held on August 31, 2021 at Cape May County Veteran Cemetery at 11am.
