Charles R. Dender, of Villas, N.J., passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Abington Jefferson Hospital. He was 75 years old. "Chalie" as he was affectionately known by his relatives and friends, was born on July 31, 1945 to the late Frank and Mary (née McCory) Dender in Philadelphia. He was the husband to Dolores M. (née Cahill) Dender with whom he is survived by and together they shared 54 years of marriage. Chalie was a loving family man, and friend to many. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Teamsters, Local 500, until his retirement. In addition to his wife Dolores, Chalie is survived by his daughter, Kimberly A. Dender and his son, Charles F. "Chuck" Dender (Nedenia) along with four grandchildren: Kate, Patrick, Kevin, Norah and his great grandson, Evan. He is survived also by two siblings, Mary and Frank and is predeceased by one brother, Joseph. A memorial service for Chalie will be held at 3pm on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, N Cape May, NJ; a viewing hour will be held immediately prior to service from 2pm-3pm.
