Purvis, James T., age 82 of Villas, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Born in and formerly of Philadelphia, James has been an area resident since 2003. After graduating from North Catholic High School in Philadelphia, he served 2 years in the US Army. He then went on to work as a Surveyor for the City of Philadelphia before becoming president of Local 2186, Philadelphia. He was a member of the Thunderbird Golf Club in Philadelphia, and St. John Neumann Parish. James enjoyed golfing, home repair projects and landscaping. He is predeceased by his wife Rosemary (2018), daughter Erin Anne Purvis, parents Anna and George Purvis, and siblings Anne Purvis and George Purvis. James is survived by his children Sean (Lisa), Michael (Melissa) and Kathleen, and 6 grandchildren. A viewing for James will be held from 9:15am–10:15am on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N Cape May, followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Rd., N Cape May. Interment will immediately follow mass at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, 129 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House. Condolences can be shared at www.EvoyFuneralHome.com.
