Claire M. Nagel, age 89, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 due to complications from Covid-19. A long time resident of Cape May, she was active in politics, various charities, and non-profit organizations. She loved organic gardening, baking, and published her first novel at age 86. She was a devoted student of Siddha Yoga. She is survived by her children, Malik Nagel and Kitania Kavey, granddaughter Ashley Byers, and an extended family. She was born in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Cornell University, (BA, History). She received her MBA from New York University. She had a long career as a Human Resources officer at Doubleday, Cornell University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Lutheran Church in America, before becoming a New York Life agent. She had a tremendous work ethic and spirit of service, no client was unimportant to her. She always thought of the greater good of the organizations she worked for and the mission they served. She believed in improving the world by improving her community, and so many people have already reached out to share stories of her good work and kind deeds.
