David (DAY-Vid) Thomas Winward, 58, of North Cape May, New Jersey, passed away on Monday February 15, 2021 at his home.
David was born on January 10, 1963 in Philadelphia, PA to Edna Jo Thomas Winward and Robert Raymond Winward. He is survived by his sons, David Thomas Winward Jr. (34) of Feasterville, PA, Riley Thomas Winward (20) of Schwenksville, PA; his father, Robert Raymond Winward, Vineland, NJ; his two sisters, Carol Lynn (Michael) Cassidy, Arnold, MD and Lynda Ellen (Doug) Sullivan, Valencia, CA as well as four nieces Madison Cassidy, Peyton Cassidy, Brielle Cassidy, Sydney Sullivan and one nephew Brennan Cassidy. Also, extended family and close friends Liz and Don Wilson who have been a large part of his personal life in recent years. David is also survived by Riley Winward's Mom, Kristen Tsitoukis, and David Winward's Mom, Lynda Williams.
David grew up in Levittown, PA and attended Neshaminy Maple Point High School. He worked in the hospitality industry since high school and continued to build his culinary and managerial restaurant expertise in establishments from Philadelphia, PA to Cape May, NJ. These experiences eventually lead him to opening his own restaurant, Belly Busters in Villas, NJ to great success in December 2020 with his business partner Jason Paulus.
Dave's passion in life was being a father to his sons, from coaching a baseball game to attending Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies games or just talking with them on the phone. He enjoyed golfing and lively conversations about sport events and competitions with his Dad. His membership in Stella Maris Knights of Columbus in Cape May, NJ brought him great joy in his recent years, as he formed many wonderful friendships as a member.
We will miss his humor, positive energy, and adventurous spirit. If you listen closely, you may be able to hear him cheering for the Eagles and enjoying a cocktail with his Mom. A celebration of his life will be held at later date. Online condolences can be left at https://evoyfuneralhome.com.
