Obituary of Erick C Malmgren

Loved "Malmgren, Erick Carl, 74, of Philadelphia, PA passed away Monday morning, January 18, 2021. Born to the late Christian Malmgren and the late Arlene McMonigle, raised between Philadelphia, PA and Cape May County, NJ. Erick was a member of the United States Navy and a Veteran of the Vietnam War, after which he settled in the Delaware/Maryland area working as a Laboratory Technician for DuPont. In his earlier years Erick was heavily involved in church related activities and enjoyed building model trains and ships when he was not running his children to music lessons or sporting events. He enjoyed country music and westerns, as well as all things science fiction. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Erick is predeceased by his wife Julia Malmgren in 2013 and his grand-daughter Julia Lockett in 2019. He is also predeceased by siblings George Malmgren, Otto Oller, Terri McMonigle, Gayle Migliore, and Donna Sudol. Erick is survived by his children Mary (Larry) Harris, Erick (Jennifer) Malmgren, Jessica (Dennis) Malmgren, Joshua Malmgren, and Philip Malmgren; Grandchildren: Delaney, Kaylee, Erick, Dennis, Christopher, Sophia, Christian, Shaylynn, and Brogan; Siblings: Christian, Bobby, Dottie, Dan, Jack, and Norma; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial for Erick will be held at 10:30am on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Our Lady of Angels, 35 E Mechanic St., Cape May Court House, NJ; family and friends may call prior to mass from 8:45am-9:45am at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N Cape May, NJ.
