William Irwin Evoy of Moorestown, NJ, formerly a long-time resident of Taunton Lakes in Medford, NJ, passed away Friday January 8, 2021. He was 81. Born January 29, 1939 in Camden, NJ to Warren G. Evoy and Elizabeth L. Evoy, he spent his childhood in Haddonfield, Merchantville, Vincentown, and Moorestown, NJ. He graduated from Moorestown High School, class of 1957. He went on to graduate as a finance major with a bachelor's degree from Lehigh University in 1961. Then in 1964, he graduated with a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. William started his law career working with his father, Warren G. Evoy, in their law practice in Camden and then Cherry Hill, NJ. In the 1980's William became an independent financial advisor while continuing to practice law. He was always ready and eager to help anyone who needed advice or a helping hand, and he always did so unselfishly. William and his wife Barbara were members and part-time residents of Ocean Reef Club in North Key Largo, FL. They also spent time with their family for many years visiting Maryland's Eastern Shore and boating on the Chesapeake Bay as active members of the U.S. Power Squadron. William enjoyed fixing anything and everything that needed repairs around the house, the boat, his son's bikes, and any other item in need of repair. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, and fishing. Growing up on farms in Vincentown and Moorestown, NJ, he adored his horses Chips, Brownie, and Laddie. William was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Barbara K. Evoy; his brother Richard L. Evoy; and his sister-in-law Brenda W. Kirkland. He is survived by his children, Bradley (Julie) of Morrisonville, NY, David (Marcia) of Parkland, FL, and Bryan (Cherryl) of Moorestown, NJ; his six grandchildren, Bryanna, Kierna, Kylie, Ian, William, and Carol; his sister Andrea Null (Robert) of The Villages, FL and their children Alexander Null (Sarah) and Rebecca Forrestel (James); his sister-in-law Laura Granese-Evoy of Estell Manor, NJ; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorial services and interment will be held privately.
