Tommy has been one of my best friends for 60 years. MaryAnne and I vacationed with Tom and Eleanore many times and they were always the best vacations ever. In Ireland Tom was the driver. He would ask for directions and forgot them 5 seconds later. We spent hours driving and seeing the country and end up close to where we had started not where we were going. We found pubs in the middle of nowhere and we always had a cold one or two before Tom asked for directions and got back in the car again. In Nashville Tom had a conversation with a statue of Jack Daniels. He said Jacks been his friend for 50 years. Anytime we went to a restaurant anywhere Tommy would disappear and pay the bill. The only way to pay the tab was to beat Tom to the waiter and pay before he knew it. I could write pages of good memories about Tommy. Recently Eleanore has been been referring to me and Tommy as brothers. We have been very close for many years, as close as brothers. So Tom Rest In Peace my brother. I will never forget you.

Tommy was my brother from another mother. I can not remember a time that Tom and Eleanor were not in our family. My mom was their mom. my family theirs. They were with us through all of the bad times as well as good. Tommy was a man of honor, he love his Eleanor, and his kids and grandkids. He always made you feel like you were the special person in the room . He opened his home and heart to anyone that needed it. He did love his county, and was extremely proud of his service. He was a disabled vet, but never let it get him down, but worked hard for other vets, as he felt that they needed it more them himself. His Jokes, well, they were mostly bad, but you had to laugh at his excitement in telling them. The world is a little less brighter without without Tommy in it. I love you my brother.

It is one of Lily’s fondest memories, spending time with Uncle Tom and Aunt El! Also for Grandma Bloom. Thanks for the love and for your service to our country! You will be missed. Another one gone too soon.. I can't remember not having Tom and Eleanor Chestnut in our lives. They are long time friends of my parents and attended many parties and family celebrations. I went on a couple deep sea fishing trips with Tom and he was always quick to pick up the tab at the bar after the trip. He was a pleasure to be around and always seemed to have a smile on his face. Rest easy Tom and God bless his family. The Gorman kids

I am so very sorry to hear such sad news. I will always remember Tommy with fond memories. I remember Tommy and Elenor teaching me to dance in our living room, and as a young kid they never told me to get lost. My heart and prayers go out to you Elenor and your family. Love Terri ( Bud’s sister )

When we went down to the house for their twenty-five wedding Anniversary and renew of their vows . I have that tape. Will cherish for life. When he gave me a huge coffee cup cause I knew how to drink coffee. The beautiful time he showed my family a tour in center city Philadelphia. Rocky steps run counting. Making the girls do it again. The Baraganet Lighthouse stairs. So many memories of him and my sister. But most that stands out is his love for everything and my Mom.. those three stooges supenders.
