Obituary of John K Holmes

John Kevin Holmes, age 61, of North Cape May, NJ, passed away on November 11, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. His final days were peaceful because of his relationship with the Lord. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. John was a lifelong resident of Cape May County and graduated from LCMRHS, class of 1977. John retired after 27 years from South Woods State Prison, where he made lasting friendships. John was an avid Eagles fan, and enjoyed golfing and watching his family members play sports. John was larger than life yet gentle, kind and loving. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, always putting others needs before his own. Family was everything to him, and he was everything to his family. II Corinthians 5:8 - We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. He is survived by his adoring wife of 34 years, Sherri (Floyd) Holmes, children Kevin (Amy), Michele (Bill Coombs), Alishia, and Marjorie, grandchildren Nathan, Loralie, Kiana, Hadley, Lily, Charlie, TJ, Talia, Jaxson, Lincoln and Angelique, and siblings Beth, Danna, Richard, April, Michael, nieces and nephews Christopher, Jason, Erin, Jennifer, Cara, Marco, Keith, Kaitlyn, Brianna, Nicholas, Brandon, Robert, Aaron, Victoria, Christopher, and Kevin. He is predeceased by his brother Truman Palmer, mother Jean Elizabeth (Betty), father Truman Palmer, and nephews Matthew Lassor and Kyle Bove. Services will be privately held.
