Wishing the family and friends of Captain Phillips peace and comfort during this difficult time. I was lucky enough to work with and know Captain Phillips for 45+ years on the boats and ashore and got to see what a great man he was first hand. Even though the telegraph shows FWE I know Captain Phillips is going Full Ahead into the next voyage.

My thought and prayers to Billy Ray family for their loss.He was an incredible captain, friend and shipmate. I hold great respect for his integrity and wisdom.Billy Ray crew was my first assignment when I started at the ferry, he made me feel right at home. The good times will always be remember and their were many of them. However there was one I have to share with you. Captain Conner was having end of season crew party and Billy Ray came. As the day was going on he ask why isn't anyone in the pool? Next thing I see Billy Ray diving in fully clothed as he came up he yells now I know why. Great times and great memories. I will miss you Captain Bill, don't catch all the big ones save some for me when we meet again.
