Obituary of Alice Darnell

Alice Marie Darnell, aged 90 of Cape May, NJ, entered into her eternal home on Monday, June 1st, 2020. Alice was born on February 5th, 1930 in West Cape May to Easter May Batts and Jacob Spicer Oliver. She married Joseph Darnell Jr on February 14th 1948, and had five children. Alice worked as a bus driver for CMCSSSD in 1983, retiring in 1995. Alice enjoyed bingo, casino trips, and spending time with her many family members and family friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, parents Jacob and Easter Oliver, sister Mary Morrison, brother John Oliver, and eldest son Joseph Darnell III. She leaves to cherish her memory an extensive family, her children Michael Darnell, of Villas; Charles Darnell, of Villas; James Darnell, and his wife Barb, of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania; Samantha DeGerlia, nee Darnell, and her husband Timothy, of Folsom, whom Alice resided with since 1994; And her daughter-in-law Harriet Darnell, of Cherry Hill. Grandchildren Dr. Melinda Darnell, and her husband Dr. Dan DiGregorio, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Dane Darnell, Pennsylvania; Michelle Darnell and her husband Walt, of Newark, Delaware; Joanna Darnell, of Cherry Hill; Montana Elwell, nee DeGerlia, and her husband Joseph, of Millville; Hunter Degerlia, and her twin brother Cole, of Folsom; and her great-grandson Aidan McDermott, of Newark, Delaware. She also leaves countless nieces, nephews, and "adopted" grandchildren. Alice touched the lives of so many people in her 90 years on Earth. Her love and kindness will be cherished by those she leaves behind. Due to COVID 19 Restriction, services are limited to immediate family, and entrusted to Evoy Funeral Home, Cape May.
