Clinton C. Rose Jr. Age 83 of Rio Grande, New Jersey formerly of Sandpiper Bay NC., Elizabethtown PA., Fallston MD & Philadelphia PA. Clint a devout Catholic went to be home with the lord and savior Jesus Christ on Friday May 15th. He was born on June 1st, 1936 to the late Clinton C. Rose Sr. and Madeline (Fuller-Rose) Levin. He was born and raised in Philadelphia PA. His father died at an early age and his mother remarried Benjamin H. Levin who played a vital part in his upbringing. Growing up he attended Catholic Elementary School and he graduated from North Catholic High in 1954. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy where he served for 8 years. He was at sea when his first son was born. Growing up in Philadelphia he became a die-hard Eagles fan (Go Birds!), Phillies fan, loved listening to Frank Sinatra and enjoyed his gin martinis which lasted throughout his life. After getting out of the Navy he worked at ACME for a short time before starting his career in the liquor industry which would last 45 years. During those 45 years he worked for Four Roses, Seagrams, Christian Brothers and finally the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. He was the Director of Logistics at the PLCB and brought a wealth of experience from private industry and began to transform the PLCB's merchandising and promotion strategy. He had a saying "Stack it high and watch it fly" philosophy which had a positive impact on the in-store shopping experience as well as increased sales and profit. In 1992 he married the love of his life Arlene Blassberg Blake Rose, together they formed a love affair that would never waiver. They did everything together, especially traveling and spending time at the beach. They loved to cruise so much so that they went on a 3 ½ month around the world cruise along with many others. He is preceded in death by Madeline (Fuller) Rose, Benjamin H. Levin, Clinton C. Rose Sr., Joseph Blassberg (father-in-law), Sylvia Marsey Blassberg (mother-in-law), Barbara Blassberg Gross & Raymond Gross (sister and brother-in-law), Douglas Benjamin Rose (son), Joan Tomlinson (sister), Joan Strunk (sister-in-law), Timmy Tomlinson (nephew) and Wellington Keller(father-in-law). He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Arlene (Blassberg-Blake) Rose. Four Children Clinton C. (Teri) Rose III, J. Gregory (Marilyn) Rose, Michael B. Rose and Kristine Joan Rose (Jeff) Scarry. His three children from his extended family Pamela Blake (Jim) Eisenhour, Scott Blake and Michael (Cindy) Blake. Fourteen Grand Kids Clinton C Rose IV, Justin Rose, Amy Wollenhaupt, Taylor Rose, Christian Rose, Meghan Scarry, Ben Scarry, Stacy Ramsey, Crystal Ramsey, Brian Ramsey, David Krebs, Leah Krebs, Jordan Blake and Shawna Blake,. Six Great Grandkids Clinton C Rose V, Chloe Rose, Kaitlin Alsip, Jenna Suggs, Raven Landrum and Conner Ramsey. Niece and Nephews Karen Strunk, Kathy Strunk, Lisa Tomlinson, Jimmy Tomlinson and Donna (Tomlinson) Villavicencio, Richard Blassberg (Brother-in-law) and last but not least Barbara Ann (Keller-Rose) Tilley. The mother of his 5 children. Rest in peace, dad, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend we'll all miss you. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Clinton Rose's name to St John Newman Parish, 680 Townbank Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204.
