I met Al at a CETA automotive school in Atlantic City in 1973. He was the best auto mechanic and teacher and taught me so much. He was a genuine mechanic who would take a part and fix it rather than buy a new one often saying that he wasn't just a part changer. He knew transmissions inside and out. Later he became a friend and I worked with him outside of school. Even though we lost touch; I will never forget him. There will always be a place in my heart for him.
Al was an absolute gentleman. He was a delight to know. We will miss seeing him at family gatherings.
