Obituary of Albert Leon Ewing, Jr.
Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ewing, Albert L., aka "Cappy", "Capt", "Big Al", "Poppy", "G-Pop", and "Papa", age 89 passed gently at his home, singing, character intact, surrounded by "his girls".
Al was a jack of all trades and could fix or build just about anything- houses, boats, furniture. He was also a great cook who loved food and everything that went into it. Captain Al spent most of his life on and around the sea, from leaving school for the day – working the docks for a dollar, to being in the Navy, to serving as Captain to various fishing and clamming boats. He then worked the sounds on a Garvey he built himself.
He is survived by 2 daughters, 4 granddaughters, 5 great-grandchildren, and many, many friends who loved him. Al had a true enjoyment of life and its pleasures. In lieu of flowers, raise your glasses in a toast to a life well lived. There will be an open house celebrating his life on Tuesday, March 31st, 2020 at his home, 4-8pm. Condolences can be shared at www.EvoyFuneralHome.com.
