Joan Pauciello, 86, died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 26, 2020. Joan was born on January 13th at St. Vincent's Hospital in Staten Island, NY. She grew up in Bronx, New York and later moved to Maplewood, NJ with her two sisters, Patricia Munden (Toms River, NJ) and Ruth Longstreet (deceased) and her predeceased parents, Patrick and Agnus Daquino. Joan married Sam Pauciello (deceased '01) on September 30, 1956 and bought their first home in Iselin, NJ where their first two children, Mike and Nancy were born. They moved to a larger home in Edison, NJ and added Jim and Jeanne to their family. Another move brought them to a wonderful neighborhood where they raised their children and made lifelong friends. They were active in their church and the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed camping and traveling. Along with being a mother of 4, Joan worked as a teller for a local bank and later as an insurance biller for a Chiropractor. When Joan retired, she and Sam bought their retirement home in their favorite place, Cape May, NJ. They once again found wonderful friend, were active in their church, Knights of Columbus and the Good Samaritans. Joan is survived by her children and their spouses; Mike (Karin Torrejos) Pauciello, Nancy (Loren) Moffatt, Jim (Jeannie) Pauciello, Jeanne (Jack) Martin; and eight grandchildren; Samantha Moffatt, Michael Pauciello, Jason (Geri McMahon) Moffatt, Jessica (Austin) Card, Jack P. Martin, Tori Pauciello, Joe Martin, and Nick Pauciello. Joan has two great grandchildren; Ashley and Rylan. A mass of Christian Burial for Joan will be held at 11am on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the St. John Neumann Parish, St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Rd, N Cape May; friends may call at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, N. Cape May the evening before mass on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 5pm-8pm, and again Friday morning immediately prior to mass from 9:30am – 10:30am. Interment will be held immediately after mass at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ. Please join us in the celebration of Joan's life at Avalon Golf and Country Club, 1510 US 9, Cape May Courthouse, following the burial at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) at the below link.
