Irene E Romaine, age 82, of N Cape May died Saturday, September 14, 2013. Irene was born September 13, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1972. She is the daughter of the late Alfred and the late Irene (Brennan) VanOsten. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Romaine in 2002. She was known for her faith, wisdom and kind loving heart; worked and volunteered at the North Wildwood Senior Center; and enjoyed knitting. Irene is survived by one daughter Jacqui and son-in-law Jonathan Hinker of N Cape May, NJ and one sister Virginia Young and brother-in-law Raymond. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Drew Deabenderfer, Kyle Deabenderfer, Alex Deabenderfer, & Joseph Hinker; and nephews: Raymond Young & Bryan Young. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Episcopal Church Of The Advent, Franklin & Washington Sts, Cape May, NJ; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or the Epilepsy Foundation of NJ, 1 AAA Drive Suite #203, Trenton, NJ 08691(in Memory of Virginia Baer).
