Nina Mary Startare (nee Recupero), a longtime resident of the Wildwoods, passed away peacefully Saturday the 27th of April at her home in Angelsea. Born on October 28, 1941 to parents Carmello and Carmella Recupero. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Startare of 29 years. Her children Richard Cozzi (Laura), Natalie Foschini (Victor), Gina Cozzi, Steven Cozzi (Nicole), Anthony Cozzi (Margarita) and nine grandchildren. Also, stepmother to Richard Startare Jr. (Judy), Jamee Barfield (Ed) and their children. Nina cherished her time with family and friends, often hosting many gatherings in her home where the door was always open and the food was always on the table. She was young at heart and always up for a good laugh. She knew how to love and shared that love with anyone she came into contact with. She instilled in her children a constant nurturing love and faith that will never be forgotten. She loved her Italian roots and it showed in her cooking and favorite Italian music. Nina, a devout catholic devoted her life to God and followed in his footsteps as best as she could throughout her life. The world was a happier place with Nina in it. She will be greatly missed. Calling and Mass will be celebrated on Friday May 3, 2019 at Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church 9910 Third Avenue Stone Harbor, NJ. Calling will begin at 10am followed by Mass at 11:00am.
