Doug & family it has been one of the greatest privileges in our lives to know Karen. Her warm and caring heart will be one thing we will never forget. The bright smile when she greeted you would light up a room. During the times of her illness she would always ask how you were doing never dwelling on her own ailments. I believe knowing Christ as her savior gave her the great strength she needed to endure her discomfort. God surely received an angel and we look forward to seeing her again in heaven and they would say well done my good and faithful servant. We will miss her but she will live on in our memories and she will be free from her earthly ailments.
With Love Sherry & Andrew Zeugner

Doug and family, Karen was a special loving person since we have known her. She was a strong woman and fought for life till the end. She loved the Lord and was faithful until the very end, knowing that God was with her. We will miss her at our church and functions. We were honored when we were asked to do the music for the memorial service. Karen would have been very proud of you all today. It was a beautiful service. God's comfort and peace be with you Doug and your family. In our prayers,

My deepest sympathy to Doug, Brian, Teri, Jennifer, and to all of your loved ones. I have shared so many great memories and adventures through the years. Shortly after their marriage, definitely HS sweethearts, they came up to visit us in our small home in Manville. It was like their mini-honeymoon. Her and Doug hosted many Thanksgiving Day feasts; never, ever without Karen's delicious homemade coleslaw, her gravy which Brian always helped her make, and the family Pictionary game. Karen's "annual Christmas Cookies" were so eagerly awaited for always in her labeled tins, which I made sure to return empty to her so it would guarantee a full one the following Christmas! Steve & I loved to camp as much as Doug and Karen, and would often collaborate on places we visited. We taught them how to play the board game Joker, which we initially brought to their home. Well, the next time we played it; Doug, of course, had made his own version, so they could in turn teach their friends. She was a tremendous help to our mother-in-law, Blanche, taking her packaged homemade meals, shopping, tiding up her house in N. Cape May, and just being her "right hand". It was greatly appreciated by the rest of the family members. Although mostly quiet and reserved, Karen J. Reed has left us with many loving and caring memories that will continue to speak to us. Loved forever, forgotten never!
