John Michael Rogers, age 55, of Villas passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, and formerly of Ridley Park, PA; he has been a full time Cape May area resident since 1977. John has been a life -long summer resident. He was employed as a cook at Layre's Dutch Kitchen in Villas, the Washington Inn in Cape May, and Congress Hall in Cape May. John was a member of the AA Club in Villas, and was an avid book reader. He is survived by his: father Henry Rogers of Villas; sons: David (Kendra) Verity of Rio Grande, John M Rogers, Jr. of Erma, and Daniel Rogers of Erma. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and one brother Steve (Kathy) Rogers of Villas. He was preceded in death by his mother Catherine R Rogers and his brother Charles Rogers. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
