Dear Family,
So sorry and sad to hear of your loss. Poppy was a very sweet dear man. Your all in our prayers for peace, strength, comfort, and hope in the promises of our Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Tom was one of the nicest, mild mannered guys I ever met. Our family visited both he and Dot whenever we would visit Dorothy and John when up from North Carolina. It was always very enjoyable talking with them both. In my opinion Tom was a WWII hero who loved to share his knowledge with people. If you know his daughter Dorothy, you can also conclude that he must have been a great dad. He was a classy upstanding guy, as is his entire family. I know he will be missed.

I first met Tom and his wife Dot when I moved down here 25 years ago. He and others volunteered their time and memories of WWII in my class at
St. Raymond. Tom was always informative, polite, and a hit with the kids.
Tom belonged to that generation that refused to be called heroes, even though he truly was exactly that, a hero. But it went beyond that, Tom was simply one of the nicest people I ever met, and that can be said for his wife Dorothy also. They gave to the community in many ways, and never asked for anything in return for themselves, but only to make our town a little better place to live. I am sure that the Good Lord will take care of my friend, and we will meet again. I will miss my breakfasts with Tom and Joe Moke, just three old veterans trying to solve the world's problems, or just have some good pancakes at least. May God Bless Tom, Dorothy, and their family. He will be missed.
