Stone, Joseph M, Sr., age 61 of Villas, passed away at his home after a battle with cancer. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of Florida and Philadelphia, Joseph has been an area resident since 1980. He was a commercial fisherman with Atlantic Cape Fisheries and Cold Spring Fisheries, and had also worked as a roofer. Joseph enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Stone and sister Essie Stone. Joseph is survived by his wife, Nancy, children Joseph (Rachel McCarty) Stone, Jr., Vincent (Rachel) Stone, Matthew (Desteny Cruz) Stone, Sean Stone, Kevin (Kristy Coughlin) Stone, Amanda (Sean Eckel) Stone, Gregg Stone, and Farrah Stone, 6 grandchildren Vinnie, Julianna, David, Weslie, Conner and MacKenna, his mother Esther Stone, and his siblings Robert Stone, Mary (Thomas) Conrad, Jack (Betty) Stone, Theresa (Lark) Kemper, Eileen (Ed) Pfaff. Funeral services will be held Monday August 6th at the Evoy Funeral Home at 11am; friends may call from 10am – 11am. Interment will be privately held. Contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses. Condolences can be shared at www.EvoyFuneralHome.com.
