My Dear Cousins:
I cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss; my heart breaks for all of you. Unfortunately, I did not spend as much time as I would have liked with my Uncle Joe growing up, but it always gave me great comfort knowing that my Dad had such a special bond with him.
I remember how happy I was the first time,as a young adult, I visited Fairfax. I discovered how our fathers’ friendship had flourished due to Uncle Joe’s never-ending love and generosity. The next time I came it was so evident they were inseparable and they had me laughing so hard! I will be forever grateful that your father opened his heart and home to my Dad in his time of need.
Your father was a great man, and shall forever be remembered that way. Uncle Joe was one of the most honorable, charismatic, intellectual and overall kind souls I had the fortune of knowing. I truly believe he is already watching over his family, and continuing to be the special person he was even into the afterlife.
May God bless him and all his family. I know how proud he was of all of his children, and I am happy to know he lives on through all of you.
My sincerest and heartfelt condolances.
Love,
Your Cousin Mary
