Lawrence J Callahan, Sr., age 65, of Villas passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Cooper University Hospital. Lawrence served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a custodian at the North Wildwood School District for 10 years and worked at Morey's Pier in Wildwood. Lawrence was a member of the Charles Buddy Lewis VFW Post #5343 in Villas, was a life member of the DAV of Del Haven, a life member of the American Legion, belonged to the Knights of Columbus council #2572 of North Wildwood, was an NRA member, and was a member of the Bayshore Gun Club. He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Callahan and his sisters: Dolores McCarron & Loretta Hubbard. Lawrence is survived by his wife Donna (nee Oister) Callahan; his children: Lawrence (Alicia) Callahan, Jr. & Jocelyn (Fred) Buri; his siblings: Terry Callahan, Frances DeVanney, Catherine Burke, & Margaret Barnes; and his granddaughter Cassidy. There will a funeral service at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
