Obituary of George R. Wissel

Wissel, George R., 69, of North Cape May, NJ, passed away on Thursday June 7th, 2018. George was the son of the late George Wissel and Margaret (nee Buckel) and after serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War, he spent his career as a police officer in Point Pleasant, NJ, Tucson, Arizona, Woodbine, NJ, and West Wildwood, NJ Police Departments. He was a member of St. John Neuman Parish, the DAV of Del Haven, NJ, and the VFW in Villas. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. George was predeceased by his wife Helen (nee) McGough and survived by his two daughters Margaret (Angel) and her husband John Watson and Jessica Wissel, two grandchildren, Ashley and Abigail Hennessey, three sisters, Andrea Martinetti, Mary (George) Lokerson and Bernadette Huey and his long-time companion Joan Estock and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15 at 11:00am at St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Rd., North Cape May, NJ and friends may call one-hour prior, from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church and interment immediately following the service at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.
