Mundy, James "Jim" R., age 78 of N. Cape May, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 2, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late James and Alice Bates. Jim served in the US Navy (1959-1962) during the Vietnam Era. He started his career at McNeil Laboratories and then went into sales. He loved the ocean, fishing, and living in the Cape May area. Jim also celebrated 30 years of sobriety. He was preceded in death by his brother George Mundy, and is survived by his siblings John Bates, Linda Billingiere, Susan Schmanek, and William Bates. Jim is survived by his children, Shannon Zirpoli, (Rich), James Mundy (Mandy), Lindsy Casey (Justin), and Bethany Foley (Brian) and his grandchildren Julia, Matthew, Gabriel, Blake, Brecklyn, Luke, and Garrett. Relatives and friends are invited to Jim's Memorial Service on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10am at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, N Cape May, where the family will receive friends from 9am-10am. Interment will immediately follow service at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd., CMCH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the American Cancer Society 1851 Old Cathbert Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Condolences can be shared at www.EvoyFuneralHome.com.
