ELLIOTT, STANLEY R., - 90, of Cape May Court House, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 2, 2018. He was a lifetime resident of Cape May county and graduated from Cape May High School in 1945, joined the Army in 1951 serving 8 months as a sergeant with the 45th infantry division in Korea. Stanley was employed by the Cape May County Court System for 33 years and retired in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wildwood, and past Adjutant and Commander of the American Legion Post 193 in Cape May, served as past Quartermaster of VFW Post 386 in Cape May, the Cape May County Historical Society, the Cape May County Civil War Roundtable and the AARP. Stanley was predeceased by his wife Mabel C. (nee Gittle) in 2011 and is survived by his brother David (Ada) Elliott and four nephews, Joseph A. (Nancy) Elliott, Jeffrey W. (Carol) Elliott, John S. (Kim) Elliott and James D. (Merrideth) Elliott and cousin Joyce Riggons. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 7th from 10am to 11am at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., North Cape May, NJ with a service immediately following and burial at Cold Springs Cemetery, Cape May, NJ. Donations in his memory can be made to the First Baptist Church, 230 East Maple Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260 or Cape May Lutheran Church, 509 Pittsburgh Avenue, Cape May, NJ 08204.
