June B. Sheftz (83) passed away at her North Cape May home on April 24, 2018. The daughter of Walter Slezak and Irene Vavra Slezak, June was born on June 1, 1934 in Milmont Park, Pa. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, Pa and attended Immaculata College in Malvern, Pa. She married Stephen Sheftz on August 25, 1956—they were the first couple married in the church of Our Lady of Peace parish in Milmont Park, Pa. The couple moved to Chester, PA and had two children: Deborah Anne and Stephen Walter Robert. June worked several jobs throughout her career including serving on the faculty of her Alma Mater, Notre Dame High School. She also worked for Miller Brothers in Concordville, as a lab technician for Foote Mineral Company in Exton, Pa. Upon retirement June and her husband moved to North Cape May, New Jersey where she spent many summers since childhood. June will be remembered as an avid athlete, loving wife and mother. June was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie and survived by her husband Steve, son Stephen and many friends and loving neighbors. June's life will be celebrated by a visitation at 10:00 am and in a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Saint John Neuman parish of St. John of God located at 680 Town Bank Road in North Cape May. Condolences will be received at www.Evoyfuneralhome.com. Flowers may be sent directly to St. John of God at the above address. Memorial gifts may be directed to Holy Redeemer Hospice.
