OBITUARY Margaret M Blackburn, 83, (sunrise 6/21/29 - sunset 9/7/12) of Rio Grande passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, she has been a Cape May area resident for over 30 years. She was employed by the Middle Township Municipal Hall for 3 years; was on the Rent Control Board in Middle Township; and was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary at the Oldham, Forsythe, & Griffin Post in Cheltenham, PA. Margaret was the youngest of 8 siblings born to E Frank Mauz & Mary Duerr Mauz. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J Blackburn in 1978. Margaret is survived by her daughter Cheryl King of Villas, and her daughter M Susan Mallon of Philadelphia. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Autumn (Ed) Donahue of Glenside, PA; Amanda (Alex) Zetick of Jenkintown, PA; and Philip J King of Burleigh who took care of her until she went into the nursing home. She always referred to Philip as "her heart". There are also 4 great grandchildren surviving. There will be a memorial service at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations in Margaret's memory to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260; or the Animal Welfare Society, 40 Route 47 Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
