Obituary of Andrew H. D'Ambra

Andrew H. D'Ambra, age 92, of Villas, formerly of Pennsauken where he raised his family, died Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home with family by his side. He served in WWII in the 17th Airborne Division and retired as a Construction Official for the State of NJ. He also worked as a bricklayer for the former Union 7 of Camden, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion of Wildwood and Pennsauken, NJ where he was past president, VFW of Villas and Pennsauken, NJ, Knights of Columbus of Erma and South Jersey Airborne, Mantua and Chaplin and past president of 17th Airborne Division, past troop leader of Boy Scouts of America Troop 101 and former coach of a girls' softball league. He is the son of the late Joseph and the late Catherine (Scalese) D'Ambra. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Rose Marie (nee) Dobos, son Michael D'Ambra, son Andrew (Ann Marie), daughter Rosemarie (Robert) Larkin, son John (Denise) D'Ambra and daughter Maryann D'Ambra., thirteen Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren. Preceeded in death by two sisters Rose Mauriano and Amelia "Molly" Forgione and one brother John D'Ambra. Viewing will be held at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ Tuesday March 13 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and Wednesday, March 14 from 9:30am to 10:30am followed by a mass of Christian burial at St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 11am. Interment will be held at 2pm at New St. Mary's Cemetery, 515 W. Browning Rd., Bellmawr, NJ.
