Raymond D Haigh, age 92, of Erma passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Atlantic City Medical Center. Raymond was born July 16, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA. He is the son of the late George M and the late Elizabeth (Hewitt) Haigh. Ray served his country in the US Army under General Paton's Third Army in the 41st Calvary Division and was combat wounded at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He was employed by Aviation Auto, Bryn Mawr PA as a machinist and later worked in maintenance for the Windrift Motel in Avalon.. Ray was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy J (nee Kilian) Haigh; a brother John "Bud" Rehrig and a sister Eleanor Sleidell. He is survived by one daughter: Robin (Charles) C Spears of Louisville, KY and two sons: Raymond (Pamela) D Haigh of West Chester, PA and David (Patricia) J Haigh of Cape May Court House, NJ. Also surviving are his sister: Betty (Robert) Horace and brother: Edwin (Arlene) Haigh and seven grandchildren: Patrick Haigh, David Haigh, Samantha Spears, Andrew Spears, Elizabeth Haigh, Raymond D Haigh III. And Brent Henry; two great-grandchildren Alexander Devine and Teagan Henry. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
