Obituary of Vincent Louis Saldutti

Vincent L Saldutti, "Pi", age 98, of Wildwood Crest passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his home. The son of Vincent Saldutti and Rose (nee Guarra) Saldutti, Vincent was born and raised in Willow Grove, PA. He graduated from Upper Moreland High School in 1938. Vincent was a World War II veteran having served in the US Navy aboard the USS Harry Lee, Apa-10, an Assault Transport from 1942 to 1945. He was a Pharmacist Mate Second Class, and participated in several invasions in the South Pacific. Following his discharge from the Navy, Vincent was employed by the Budd Company in Philadelphia, before joining Fischer & Porter Co. in Warminster, PA where he became the supervisor of the Engraving Department. Vincent and Marie lived in Hatboro, PA from 1948 to 1984 before relocating to Wildwood Crest, NJ. Vince was known as "Pi" by his family and friends, a nickname given to him by his grandchildren. Vince was the ultimate gentleman and was loved and respected by many family members, friends and neighbors. He can best be described as kind, caring, gentle, upbeat, generous, and blessed. Vince could fix anything that needed repair. Vince was predeceased by his wife of 68 years: Marie (nee Eisenhard) Saldutti, his son Ronald F Saldutti, his brother Carl Saldutti, and his sisters: Mary Hutmaker & Fannie McDonald. Vincent is survived by two sons: James V (Carol) Saldutti of Wildwood Crest and Robert T (Benita) Saldutti of Longboat Key, FL. Also surviving are his three grandchildren: Brian J (Jamie) Saldutti of Bryn Mawr, PA; Sherri (Vinnie) Carannante of Cape May Court House, NJ; and Gary R (Katelyn) Saldutti of Wall Township, NJ; along with his four beloved great grandchildren: Bennett, Carina, Kenneth, & Lucy; and several loving nephews and nieces. He also leaves behind his many cherished friends and neighbors. Vince will forever be sadly missed. There will be visitation held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 9:30 am at the Notre Dame de la Mer Parish, Church of the Assumption, 7010 Seaview Ave, Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260; followed by a Requiem Mass at 11:00 am. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 12 noon at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19150.
