Obituary of Peter Nicholas La Monica

Peter Nicholas La Monica, age 77, of Cape May passed away peacefully Friday, December 1st, 2017 at Victoria Manor of North Cape May, NJ. Peter was born February 28, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY and has been a Cape May area resident since the age of 15. He is the son of the late Peter L and the late Mary La Monica. Peter served his country in the US Navy. He retired from the family business, Cape May Canners in Burleigh, NJ. Peter was a member of the Parish of St John Neumann. He could always be seen with a camera in his hands. Peter faithfully recorded all family gatherings. He enjoyed Broadway shows, travel and keeping fit at Miracle Fitness. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Salvatore and Anthony La Monica. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Joan La Monica; his sister Virginia La Vecchia; and his sister-in-law Anita La Monica. Peter was loved by his many nieces and nephews. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
