Eileen M McKernan, age 91, of Cold Spring passed away peacefully Thursday, October 26, 2017 at home with her family by her side. Eileen was born September 12, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA; formerly lived in Southwest Philly; and has been a Cape May area resident for 48 years. She is the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Rose C (Meehan) Buckley. Eileen was a Chambermaid for many years at various motels in Cape May and Wildwood Crest. She was a member of the Villas VFW, the Villas Fishing Club, and she loved music and dancing. She was preceded in death by her husband John P. McKernan in 2005. Eileen is survived by three daughters: Coleen Sherretta, Lynn Kinzler, & Nancy (Jimmy Adamoli) McKernan, and one son: John T McKernan. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. The family suggests donations in Eileen's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053 or to the Cape May County Animal Shelter, 110 Shelter Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
