My brother Richie (also known as ‘Stickman’ back in those days) was good friends with Kenny.
In the summer of 1980 the 3 of us jammed quite a few times, with Rich on drums, Ken on his black Ibanez bass, and me on guitar. I remember Kenny as a very easy guy to get along with, and he had a great sense of humor. Back in 77’ I went for my driver’s license, but got turned down twice because the car didn’t meet the proper requirements. Ken came to my rescue. He had a big red car (Caddy?) at the time, and we drove to North Hudson Park one sunny Friday afternoon.
For the next few hours we just drove through & around the park with me behind the wheel. It was a busy day in the park, with construction going-on, people walking about, and Ken was completely cool & relaxed, giving me instructions as we drove around & around. Ken was just carrying on a conversation, not worried at-all. “You’re doing great! OK…..let’s turn left here….hit the blinker….”
When we were done he let me drive down Kennedy Blvd. back to Jersey City! He even let me use his car when I took the driving test and passed. I never forgot that. Kenny was a really great guy. I never saw him in a bad mood.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends. So sorry for this loss.
Rest in Peace, Ken.

Kenny,
I miss you man. The 12 years that I knew you went way too fast. I miss the talks, the rides. We were from the same era. You were a good friend, and I hope I get to see you again one day.

I'm sad to hear this news. I am a childhood friend who grew up with Kenny and Tommy in the heights of Jersey City. I lost contact with him back in the 1970s. He was always kind to me; a nice guy; I have fond memories of some special birthday parties and fishing trips; especially the one I went on with Kenny's entire family.
