Obituary of Barbara K. Evoy

Barbara Kirkland Evoy of Marlton, NJ formerly a long-time resident of Medford, NJ, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 after a brief illness, with family members by her side. She was 74. Born October 5, 1942, she spent her childhood in Devon, PA and graduated from Conestoga High School. She went on to graduate as an English major with a bachelor's degree from Wilson College in 1964 where she was a member of the Judicial Board and Silver Key. She also attended the University of Pennsylvania graduate school. Early in her career, she taught in the Philadelphia School District and later worked for many years in the retail clothing industry. Throughout the years she was a wonderful, devoted homemaker and mother of her three sons. Over the past 21 years, she spent the winter months at the Ocean Reef Club in North Key Largo, FL. She was an active participant at the Health & Tennis Club, where she attended many functions and continued her long-time passion of playing tennis. She spent time with her family for many years visiting Maryland's Eastern Shore and boating on the Chesapeake Bay as an active member of the U.S. Power Squadron. Her other interests included horses, reading, gardening, playing pinochle and bowling. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth D. Kirkland and William G. Kirkland, M.D. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William I. Evoy; her children, Bradley (Julie) of Morrisonville, NY, David (Marcia) of Parkland, FL, and Bryan (Cherryl) of Moorestown, NJ; her six grandchildren, Bryanna, Kierna, Kylie, Ian, William and Carol; her sister Brenda K. Costantino (Salvatore) of Palm Springs, CA and her children Erica, Samantha, Brigit, and Scott; her sister-in-law Andrea Null (Robert); her sister-in-law Laura Evoy (Richard L. Evoy, deceased), and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorial Service and interment will be held privately. Condolences can be sent to www.evoyfuneralhome.com. . .
