Wirges, Robert 86, of Erma, passed away on April 7, 2017. formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY, he has been an area resident since 1986. He was a programmer with IBM retiring after 25 years and worked many years at the Cape May National Golf Club. Served in the U.S. Army during Korea. He loved his family and enjoyed playing golf, watching professional sports including the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabers. Surviving are his sons, Scott Wirges (Judy) of Hopewell Jct., NY and Michael Wirges( Chrissie) of Poughkeepsie, NY. Daughters Caryle Barnish,( Ken) Poughkeepsie, NY, Ellen Somogyi(Robert), Paupack PA, Susan Wirges, Cape Cod, MA and Cathy Haggerty of Erma, NJ. Grandchildren Ashley, Brittany, Matthew, Sarah, Justin, Jesse, Julian, Lexi, Casey, Cody, Ryan and Sarah Arnold. Great Grandchildren Maxwell, Grayson, Shane, Tyler, Mia, Connor and Brothers Jim and Tom Wirges and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death his wife Joan and brother Richard.
