Obituary of Mark Phillip Vogelsong

Mark Phillip Vogelsong, age 59, of West Cape May passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home. Mark was born June 1, 1957 in Wilmington, DE and has been a Cape May area resident since 1981. He is the son of the late Edwin and the late Leona (Curren) Vogelsong. Mark was a graduate of Conrad High School in Wilmington, DE and was a Roman Catholic by faith. He was employed by Delaware River/Bay Authority as a Bartender. On August 14, 2006, Mark was recognized for his participation in the rescue of two people from a capsized boat when he spotted one of them floating in the water while working on the Cape May Lewes Ferry. He was always cheerful and his smile warmed our hearts. Mark will be dearly missed by his extended Delaware family and friends. He is survived by his wife: Kim (Conroy) Vogelsong; two daughters: Sabrina (Liz Cortina) Brill & Shade Long; and one son: Francis Brill. Also surviving are his four sisters: Michelle (Michael) Gilday, Judy Porter, Bernadette (Robert) Conomon, & Paula (John) Halloway; one brother: Michael Vogelsong; one grandchild: Carter Brill; four nieces: Nicole, Jacquelyn, & Chelsea; and five nephews: Shaun, Justin, David, Mark & Keith.
