Michael J Ambrose, Jr., age 89, of Cape May Court House passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. Michael was born February 16, 1927 in Paterson, NJ; formerly lived in Hawthorne, NJ; and has been a Cape May area resident since 2009. He is the son of the late Michael and the late Mary (Wehrer) Ambrose. Michael served in the Coast Guard during World War II on the USS Pride #343. He was employed by PSE&G as a Lineman/Tower Builder. Michael was a former member of St Anthony's RC Church and the Knights of Columbus in Hawthorne, NJ. He was very active with the Hawthorne Cubs Youth Football team and coached youth basketball. Michael was a member of the Riverside Veteran's Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Larraine M (Warburton) Ambrose in 2013; his sister Evelyn LaBruna; and his granddaughter Brooke Forshay. Michael is survived by two daughters: Barbara (Donald) Miller & Lynne Ambrose; and one son: Michael (Nancy) Ambrose. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Michelle (Matt) Mariani, Matthew (Jenna) Ambrose, & Melissa (Gregory) Nejmeh; and two great-grandchildren: Jackson & Kaleb. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, 02/01/2017 at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
