Karen D Booth, age 75, formerly of North Cape May, NJ, currently of Egg Harbor Township, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Shore Memorial Hospital of Somers Point, NJ. Karen was born July 29, 1941 in Staten Island, NY; lived most of her life in the Cape May area, and recently moved to Egg Harbor Township, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Otto and the late Helen (Hastings) Franz. Karen retired after 35 years of service to the US Postal Service working mostly in the Cape May and North Cape May Post offices. She was a former member of the Red Hats, the Kiwanis Auxiliary of Cape May, the former secretary of the Oceanside Community Club of Cape May, and the former secretary of the American Postal Workers Union. Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years Donald G. Booth in 2011. She is survived by her daughter Raquelle (William) Narron of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; her son Gary Bolon of Erma; and her step children: Vicki Thigpen, Robert Booth, & William Booth. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
