Obituary of Alice C Oleksiak

Alice C. Oleksiak, age 92, of West Cape May, NJ passed away peacefully Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was born in Passaic, NJ to James and Elizabeth Guckian. After graduation from Passaic Senior High, she attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. Alice then enlisted in the US Marines in 1945. In 1953 she married Casimer Oleksiak where they remained in Passaic to raise their family. Alice became a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts and was an active member in the PTA. She obtained her Associates Degree in Accounting later in life while teaching at a local driving school. In 1985 Alice retired to West Cape May, NJ and Estero, FL. Alice was active in local politics as well as the West Cape May Shade Tree Commission and the Cape May VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to swim, garden and ride her moped. Alice is predeceased by her husband Casimer and her sister Jane Guckian. She is survived by her daughter Betsy; son Jimi O.; daughter Margaret (Chuck); and daughter Eileen (Jerry). Alice also leaves behind 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
