Patricia Ann Whalen, age 74, of Rio Grande passed away peacefully Saturday, September 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born February 28, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA; lived in the Fishtown Section of that city; and became a Cape May area resident in 1961. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Elizabeth (Doble) McDevitt. Patricia was a member of the Parish of St John Neumann, loved cooking, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward Whalen in 2010. Patricia is survived by her son Ed (Jean) Whalen; her daughters Marie Whalen & Patricia Whalen; and her grandchildren: Gabrielle Whalen & Daniel Whalen. Also surviving are her sisters Carol Leabourne & Elizabeth Parker. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
