Mary A Sweeten, age 91, of Cape May Court House passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Crest Haven Nursing Home. Mary was born May 6, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA; and returned to live full time in the Cape May area in 1973. She was raised in the Wildwood area where her family owned commercial fishing boats. Mary is the daughter of the late William and the late Genevieve (Rutter) Birchall. She loved doing "word find" puzzles and watching professional wrestling. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Andrew H Sweeten, Sr.; her son Andrew H Sweeten, Jr.; and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by five daughters: Linda Henry, Susan Kavadas, Mary Griffin, Kathleen Sweeten, & Jenny Oliver; and three sons: William Sweeten, Joseph Sweeten, & Charles Sweeten. Also surviving are: 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. There will be a graveside service at 9:30 AM on Saturday September 17, 2016 at Cold Spring Cemetery, 780 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204.
