Obituary of Eugene A Bernstein

Eugene A. "Artie" Bernstein, of Cape May Court House died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his home. He was born October 17, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA to Ethel Sarah Suplee and E. Arthur Bernstein II. He later moved to Havertown, PA where he attended Oakmount Grade School and Haverford Jr. High. Eugene served 8 years in the Navy Reserve. He worked at various jobs, including gas station manager, Allen Wood Steel Co in Conshohocken, PA until it closed, and then became a master of all trades doing remodeling and construction. His main interest was fishing, all year long as long as the fish held out. He supplied his friends and neighbors with countless fresh fish dinners. Eugene really enjoyed music and could dance very well. He is survived by his son, E. Arthur Bernstein IV and his wife Xitina and granddaughter Elizabeth who all reside in Barcelona, Spain. Also there is a son Paul Bernstein in Clifton Heights, PA; sister Jeanette Ruth Pachella of Audubon, PA; and his companion Joann C. Pettit of Cape May Court House, NJ. Services will be private and he will be interred in the columbarium at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Claire, Pittsburgh, PA. Condolences will be received at www.evoyfuneralhome.com
