Obituary of John E Clark

John Clark, age 80, of Villas passed away peacefully Sunday, April 17, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. John was born in Hammond, LA; was formerly of Philadelphia, PA; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1995. He was the beloved and cherished husband of Maryellen (his wife of 23 years). John served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a welder and fabricator by Tuckahoe Sand & Gravel Co. John was a member of the Villas VFW, the Erma Knights of Columbus, and a retired member of the Engineer's Local. He enjoyed metal detecting on the area beaches and farmland. John was preceded in death by his son Steve Clark. He is survived by his wife Maryellen (nee Carey); his sons: John "Rocky" Clark & Gable Clark; his daughter Laverne Clark; his step-daughters: Linda Gulden (John Wagner), Karen (Bruce) Graham, Jacqueline Beeby (Charles Jacovini), & Maryellen (Joe) Gormley; and his step-son Thomas Beeby (Katrina Born). Also surviving are: his brother Frank Clark; his sisters: Ruby Thornton & Ethel Martin; his 4 grandchildren; his 5 great grandchildren; his 8 step-grandchildren; and his 8 step-great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery, 780 Seahore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John's memory to the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9, Swainton, NJ 08210.
