Obituary of Eileen Clare Nusser

Eileen C. Nusser, age 73, of Erma, NJ; a loving, generous and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and mentor left earth calmly on March 6, 2016. Born in Philadelphia on 4/4/42 to Walter E and Clare R Bleil, she was a graduate of Clarion University with a BS in both English and Government History and an ME in Psychology and Special Ed. from Penn State. Eileen began her career in Northampton, PA teaching history and English where she developed a core program for challenged learners. Relocating to Galway, NY, Eileen first taught 7th and 8th grade English and then went on to teach 11th and 12th grade college prep English. While at Galway she was a class advisor and advisor for chess club, student council and cheerleading and also won many awards as a director in the one act play contest. She was also teacher of the year and recipient of a yearbook dedication. In addition, Eileen was President of the NY local NEAU and Board Member of the Saratoga labor Council. Relocating as a Navy wife to Va. Beach, she substituted at Cape Henry Collegiate an 11th and 12th grade English teacher and served as a Navy Ombudsman. Relocating to Lower Township in 1987, she and husband Scott opened S & E Auto Repair in Erma. Eileen served on the Historic Planning Commission, Friends of the Fishing Creek School, Zoning Boards, Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, poll worker, Democratic Committee woman and Secretary and Events Organizer of the LT Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Delta Zeta, the Association of Honorary University Women and Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers and was honored as an American Notable Woman of the Year and LT citizen of the year. Eileen was predeceased by her parents and brother Walter G. Bleil. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 36 years, Scott, her daughter Lee Anne Male and husband Randy James of Sudbury, MA, her daughter Karyn MacLeod and husband Michael of Scarborough, ME, her cherished grandchildren Sophie, Tessa, Collin, Dillon and Griffin, beloved nieces Lisa, Jessie and Beth and extended family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St John of God at 680 Townbank Rd in North Cape May on Thursday, March 17th at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM at the church prior to Mass. Burial will be held at a future date with close family and friends. Eileen always believed in helping others in any way she could and never expected accolades. Donations may be made to a food bank or homeless shelter in your community to honor Eileen's mantra to extend a hand to the less fortunate, for there but for the grace of God go you.
