Anthony K "Tony" Kubiak, age 96, of Cape May passed away peacefully Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his home. Tony was born January 4, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA; was formerly of that city; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1982. He is the son of the late Anthony and the late Hedwig (Gurbada) Kubiak. Tony served his country in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from the Budd Company in Philadelphia after 35 years of service. Tony was a member of the Cape May American Legion, the Cape May VFW, and the DAV of Del Haven. He was an avid fisherman for many years on the Miss Lorraine II. Tony is survived by his wife of 69 years Frances (Hartley) Kubiak; his children: Lorraine K (Gary) Conover, Janet (Mike) Bonacci, Anthony J (Dorothy) Kubiak, Daniel T Kubiak, & Walter K (Kim) Kubiak. Also surviving are his sister Marie McMullin, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St Raymond's RC Church, Ocean & Bayshore Rd, Villas, NJ 08251; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. The family suggests donations in Tony's memory to the Disabled American Veteran's, Bayshore Rd, Del Haven, NJ 08251.
