Harold Hewitt, age 75, of Rio Grande passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Court House Convalescent Center. Harold was born September 13, 1937 in Wildwood, and has been a life-long Cape May area resident. He was a graduate of Wildwood High School and was passionate about riding motorcycles. Harold was a retired dispatcher for South Jersey Gas of Swainton, NJ. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (nee Shepherd) Hewitt of Rio Grande; his son Harold L (Tracy) Hewitt, Jr. of Georgia; and his son Ryan J (April) Hewitt of Clementon, NJ. Also surviving is his sister Dorothy Newkirk of North Cape May, NJ. Harold was preceded in death by his brother John Hewitt. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
