Ronald M. Cody, age 64, of Cape May, NJ, died Thursday, October 15, 2015 at his home following a short illness. Ron was born May 28, 1951 in Salem, OH, the son of Marian (Martin) Cody and the late Joseph Cody. He was a 1969 graduate of Salem High School. He also attended Miami of Ohio University and graduated from Youngstown State University. Ron was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church. Before moving to Cape May, NJ in the early 1980's, he was manager of Turner Machine in Salem. At one time he managed a motel in Cape May and owned the 19th Hole Ice Cream Shop in Cape May. He recently retired from Walmart, a job he loved and where he formed many lasting friendships from his stay there. Ron was kind to everyone and well known for his generous spirit and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his mother Marian (Martin) Cody; two brothers: Don (Amy) Cody & Randy (Joni) Cody, and one niece Ashley Cody (Matt) Roman. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Grandview Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Claye Folger officiating. The family would like to thank Ron's co-worker and special friend, Michelle Bennett, for her care and compassion during this difficult time.
