Mabel F. Barris (nee O'Brien), age 90, of Villas passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Kennedy Hospital. She was the beloved spouse of the late Myer (Mike) Barris. Mabel grew up in Kensington, Philadelphia and was raised on Cornwall Street. She attended Visitation Elementary School and Hallahan High School. After graduation, Mabel had a long and rewarding career with the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia. She spent many happily retired years with her husband in Villas, Cape May County, NJ; where they were involved in the Parish of St John Neumann, St Raymond's Church and their town community. Mabel was also an avid life-long Phillies fan. She is survived by cousins Mrs. William Lavender and Mr. Jerry Schaefer, along with many loving nieces and nephews. A priest will conduct a small service for Mabel at 11:00 AM Friday, June 26, 2015 at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery where Mike is buried. Her ashes will be buried with his.
