Reynold "Rennie" Scheidts, 57, of Dorchester, NJ passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of North East High School. Rennie was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the US Coast Guard serving for 26 years, currently employed at the Coast Guard Uniform Distribution Center in Woodbine, NJ. He was very patriotic and loved his country. Rennie was a member of the Chief's Club at the Coast Guard Station in Cape May and loved gardening (especially growing tomatoes). He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years Deborah Scheidts of Dorchester, NJ; his son Jonathan Scheidts of FL; his son Jason Scheidts of FL; his step daughter Courtney (Julio) Ruiz; and his step son Stephen West. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Sam & Emily West, and LJ Garcia; his brother Ed (Chris) Scheidts; his sister Maggie (Todd) Woodward; 3 nieces; one nephew; and his faithful black lab "Bambie" who welcomed him home each day. Rennie was preceded in death by his step daughter Erin West and his sister Christine Scheidts-Miller. There will be a funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The family suggests donations in Rennie's memory to the Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360. Interment will be private.
